History of the Sheepadoodle Breed
The Sheepadoodle dog breed was first developed as a military dog for the US Army in the 1960’s. The combination of a Poodle’s intelligence and an Old English Sheepdog’s bravery was thought to make a high quality working dog. However due to the happy-go-lucky and loving nature of the Sheepadoodle, the breed was quickly retired from military use. But the good news is that this little experiment resulted in a fantastic family dog! Around the 1980’s people started gaining appreciation of the hypoallergenic qualities of a Poodle coat. As a result, the Sheepadoodle started to increase in popularity during the early 2000’s. Nowadays the Sheepadoodle breed has exploded in popularity due to its similarity to the Goldendoodle. Sheepadoodles tend to be larger than their other Doodle counterparts such as the Labradoodle and Goldendoodle.
The breed’s popularity really took off in 2017 and Poodles 2 Doodles is proud to be one of America’s premiere Sheepadoodle Breeders.

Verified Customer Reviews
5 stars for the puppy, but 2 stars for the customer service
Our puppy is awesome! However, we were not so impressed with the customer service. Poodles 2 Doodles does not respond very well to emails, and sometimes not to phone calls either. Some of ours were never responded to or were responded to many days later. If you’re going to state as one of your reasons for the deposit is because you have to take the time to respond to emails, it’s suggested that you actually do that and in a timely fashion. The contract also states that all fees must be paid for by 7 weeks of age and checks need to be there 10 days before the pick up date at 8 weeks. On puppy selection day at 6 weeks, we asked Michelle about paying the remainder and she said Jill would send us the information. She sent it 1 day before the puppy was 7 weeks old, basically eliminating any way for a check to get there in enough time. We wired money which cost an additional fee. Also, when we arrived to pick up the puppy, in the middle of the pandemic, the employee did not have a mask on. It would’ve gone a long way towards professionalism to have this person wearing one, regardless of personal beliefs. Additionally, it is suggested that you have a paper with information on it when we leave. This should include information about the stitches and food. The employee asked if Jill had talked to us about the stitches from the spay that was done at 7 weeks. We said “No”. All she said was that they usually did ok with them. No information on when they needed to come out, whether they were dissolvable or what to look for in case they didn’t “do ok” with them. Our vet, by the way, was shocked that a spay had been done on such a young puppy and questioned what vet would do it. We know you want to protect your breeding, but it seems you should have more concern for the puppy’s wellbeing and allow spays done at the recommended age of 4-6 months. Additionally, on the suggested paper that goes home should be the name of the dog food they’re eating. Then, LABEL the baggie of dog food that is being sent home so that it matches. The wrong dog food was sent home with us and a few days after we had our puppy home we had an animal that was throwing up repeatedly. We sent Jill a picture of the food that was sent home and then the food we were told to buy that we hadn’t opened yet. She confirmed it was the wrong one. Labeling the baggie and cross referencing on a note that would go home could have avoided this. There was never any apology. Jill stated that the food was similar so shouldn’t make a difference. It did make a difference and as a breeder we would think you would know that switching dog foods cold turkey makes dogs sick. Thankfully our vet talked us through doing a bland diet and then using the dog food we were originally told to get. These are expensive dogs. One last suggestion would be that buyers need to bring the contract with them or show an ID when they pick up the puppy. We weren’t asked for any verification of who we were. Our puppy is doing great, which is the most important thing. However, Poodles 2 Doodles would’ve left a better lasting impression on us if their customer service had been better. We were often frustrated and will not use this breeder in the future.
