About Goldendoodles

Goldendoodles are a very popular designer dog breed, and for good reason! These puppies are cuddly with curly coats and cute faces. They’re also smart, hypoallergenic, and great for families. So it’s no wonder they’re highly in demand. However, there are several types of Goldendoodle: Standard, Mini, and Medium. So it’s vital that you understand the differences so you’ll be able to pick the one that is best for your home!

What Is a Standard Goldendoodle?

When you cross a Golden Retriever with a Poodle, you get a Goldendoodle, one of the most fun, cuddly and cute breeds out there. Goldendoodles come in three types: Mini, Medium, and Standard. So, a Standard Goldendoodle will be the breed’s largest variation.

Standard Goldendoodles are excellent choices for families. They are bigger dogs but still amazing with kids because they have a sweet, friendly disposition. They’re also really bright, which makes them fairly easy to train, as long as you have some patience. Standard Goldendoodles are also loyal and loving and will bond with you and your family quickly.

Like other types of Goldendoodles, Standard Goldendoodles are also hypoallergenic. This is one of the most popular traits of this breed, as many people love dogs but can’t be around them without experiencing itchy eyes and runny noses. That won’t be an issue with a Standard Goldendoodle puppy because they don’t shed. So not only will allergic reactions not be a concern, but housekeeping will be a breeze too. No more dog hair everywhere!

Goldendoodles are also going to have a lot of variations in their appearance. There are noticeable size differences between Minis, Mediums, and Standards, but a rainbow of coats is further available for Goldendoodles. Standard Goldendoodles are usually solidly golden, as the name suggests. However, their coat may have red, apricot, or cream undertones. Plus, there are numerous other potential coat colors, such as gray, white, black, and copper.

Additionally, not all Standard Goldendoodles have a solid coat. We’ve been able to successfully breed Goldendoodles that have a beautiful blue merle pattern on their fur. There are also parti and abstract ones, which feature dual-toned coats. Often a Standard Goldendoodle puppy with this kind of coat will have a reddish coat with blotches of white throughout.

About Our Standard Goldendoodle Puppies

At Poodles2Doodles, we use a breeding program full of robust checks and steps that ensure each Standard Goldendoodle puppy will be with its new family for years to come. We work hard to ensure that your puppy is socialized and cared for enough to develop a good temperament and is kept healthy in the weeks before you take it home.

All puppies are given Pet-Tab Vitamins to keep them fit and healthy. We also feed them high-quality Nutri Source kibble, which encourages healthy skin and coasts. This brand of dog food is also notable because it is not hard on the puppies’ sensitive tummies.

Your Standard Goldendoodle puppy will be put through a rigorous medical routine that ensures that worms and other common diseases aren’t an issue. For instance, we dose puppies with Pyrantel when they are 3 and 4 weeks old, and then we give them 5 day courses of Panacur and Metronidazole at the 5 and 7-week marks. In between that, Marquis is given on week 6.

All Standard Goldendoodle puppies for sale on our site will also be provided with three immunizations. They will arrive at your home protected by the NeoPar, NeoVac DA2, and Intra Trak3 vaccines.

Finally, we know that some breeders have poor practices that lead to genetic conditions that can shorten dogs’ lifespans and quality of life. That’s why we ensure that every dog we use in the breeding process undergoes in-depth genetic testing. All adult Standard Goldendoodles, whether they will be a stud or the momma dog, will be subject to DNA tests. These will be used to ensure that Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) and Von Willebrand’s (VWB) will not be an issue for their puppies. Since we know many people select this breed because of allergy concerns, we also use DNA testing to ensure that our Standard Goldendoodle puppies are not likely to shed.

Standard Goldendoodle Puppies for Sale

We have several different generations of Standard Goldendoodle puppies for sale. You can find litters that are F1, which means that one parent was a Golden Retriever and the other was a Poodle. You can also find F2 Standard Goldendoodle puppies; this means that both parents were F1 Goldendoodles. There are also several other Goldendoodles available, such as F1b, which is an F1 Goldendoodle crossed with a Poodle.

This information is good to understand because it can help you find the perfect fit for your home. For instance, if you are most concerned about shedding and avoiding allergens, you’ll need a Standard Goldendoodle puppy that has a lot of Poodle in the mix. With higher proportions of poodle genetics, Goldendoodles become more hypoallergenic. Therefore, the F1bb, which is a puppy from an F1b that has been bred with a poodle, might be the best choice for those with allergies.

If you browse the available puppies, each Standard Goldendoodle puppy will have a little bio. This will include information on their lineage, as well as an educated guess as to how large they will become. All this information, plus the price, can be found here.

F1 Goldendoodle Puppy Frequently Asked Questions

How Big Is a Standard Goldendoodle?

Standard Goldendoodles can grow anywhere from 20-24 inches tall when you measure them at the shoulder. In contrast, the Mini Goldendoodle grows only about 13-15 inches tall. That shows just how much of a difference is between these two types of Goldendoodle!

It’s worth mentioning, however, that these are just estimates. There is always the possibility that a Standard Goldendoodle will be taller than 24 inches or shorter than 20 inches, and that’s because the range is just an estimate.

One thing that might impact the height of your Goldendoodle is its parentage. Not every Goldendoodle has one Golden Retriever parent and one Poodle parent. Many Goldendoodles have two Goldendoodle parents. But it’s also possible for them to have one Goldendoodle parent and one Poodle parent. These differences in combinations can account for some variations in height.

How Much Does a Standard Goldendoodle Weigh?

Your Standard Goldendoodle should be between 18 and 36.5 pounds at three months old. Then, at six months, it may weigh around 33.5 pounds or as much as 67 pounds. Your Standard Goldendoodle likely won’t stop growing until it is about 18 months old, though some reach full size at the 1-year mark, and others keep growing until they are two years old.

Once it reaches maturity, a Standard Goldendoodle can be anywhere from 40-100 pounds. This is a pretty big range, so it can be hard to know what to expect from a Standard Goldendoodle puppy. Fortunately, if you monitor their growth, there is a handy trick to estimating their adult weight.

If you take your puppy’s weight at four months old, then multiply by 2, and add on 5-10 more pounds after that, you should have an approximate answer for how big your dog will get. Of course, this isn’t a perfect science, but it can be a helpful rule of thumb.

It’s also worth mentioning that, like with any dog, the weight ranges mentioned for Standard Goldendoodles are just averages. It’s possible for your Standard Goldendoodle puppy to be a bit smaller than the norm, and it could also grow slightly taller than most other dogs in the breed, which could mean that it also weighs more.

Dogs can also weigh more if they overeat or have poor nutrition, just like people. Make sure you are only feeding your Standard Goldendoodle an appropriate amount for its age and size. Otherwise, it may become unhealthily overweight.

What Is An F1 Standard Goldendoodle?

F1 refers to the generation that a Standard Goldendoodle puppy belongs to, and it tells you what breeds the parents were. This information is very valuable because Goldendoodles can result from various mixtures. Not every Standard Goldendoodle is the pup of a Golden Retriever and a Poodle; some are the product of 2 Goldendoodles, and others have one Goldendoodle parent and one Poodle parent.

So an F1 Standard Goldendoodle will be the typical mix between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle, and this Goldendoodle will have one parent of each breed. An F2 Goldendoodle, on the other hand, will be the result when two F1 Goldendoodles have puppies. When you introduce poodles back in, different combinations are also possible, like F1b, F1bb, F2b, and F3.

What Size Crate for a Standard Goldendoodle?

You must always buy a dog crate that is big enough for your dog when it is fully grown. Crates that are too small will be uncomfortable and cruel, so you want to make sure it can stand up, sit, lie down, and stretch out.

However, you mustn’t go the other direction and get a crate that is too big for your Standard Goldendoodle puppy. The crate should be big enough to allow for movement, but not larger. If you get an extra big crate, your puppy might get confused and use a corner of it as the bathroom.

For Standard Goldendoodle Puppies, which can get up to 90-100 pounds when fully grown, it’s advised to get a 42-inch crate. A 48-inch crate might be suitable if they’re especially big, but you shouldn’t need anything larger.

How Much Does a Standard Goldendoodle Cost?

At Poodles2Doodles, we charge between $2000 and $3000 for Goldendoodle puppies. Certain factors, like whether it is Mini, Medium, or Standard, will impact the price. Coat variations also affect this figure too.

A 2-year genetic health guarantee is included in the cost of your Standard Goldendoodle puppy. We provide this because we want to ensure that you have a companion that can be with your family for years.

Furthermore, we are confident that we do everything in our power to ensure that genetic health concerns won’t affect your puppy. To that end, every parent dog undergoes various medical testing before they have their first litter.

We also take pride in the care we provide the Standard Goldendoodle puppies while they are with us. They only receive the best food and are wormed and given three rounds of shots.

These steps help us make sure that no puppies are sent home with hidden health problems. However, we want to be thorough, so we insist that within three days of taking your Standard Goldendoodle puppy home, you take it to the vet. We want to make sure you have a friend that will stick with you for many years to come.
